Aloha... I'm so in the mood to blog about my trip in Philippines. So here goes the chronology of the whole trip.
Day 1 :
- Finally! We arrived Clark Field which is two hours drive from Manila. Initially i thought we are heading to Manila, however Air Asia only flies to Clark. Ish... wasted our time here. There's nothing much in Clark actually, the place was a former US army based. We stayed in Thunder Inn near the town area i suppose. Everything seems to be fine, soft and comfy bed, tv that has whole set of Astro channels... the only problem is the water smells like rust. Can't expect so much from a cheap motel I guess. Basically no one took bath on that day, yea I know.. all of us stinks. We even need to use mineral water just to brush our teeth and wash our face. For once we felt that water is sooooooooooooooo precious, even more precious than anything else in the world. ( Okay, I think I'm exaggerating this whole water thingy. But hey... we really felt that water is like diamond to us at that moment. ) We went around the town at night and came across the red light distreet. Won't explain anything further about that. We had Jollybee which is like Mc D in Malaysia for dinner, while Alex and Melanie had lunchean ( bbq pork sold by the roadside ) for dinner. It taste great!
Day 2 :
- Went to the airport to meet guys from Cyberjaya and we aheaded straight to Manila which is a two hour drive from Clark. When we arrived Manila, we took a cab and went to our hotel. Gosh. we took a freaking 2hours or maybe more just to setttle on our accomodation. It's kinda frusfrating especially all of us are so tired after travelling for so long. We went for dinner later on at ( I forgot the name of that shop ) where we had sisig( sizzling pork), calamaries ( equivalent to our sotong goreng tepung in Malaysia ), lamb and vegetables. OMG... It was the nicest food ever! Philippines food is aweeeesssoooooooommm! Besides, it's affordable too. After dinner the cyberians planned to go for a drink in one of the pub. This was the second time I tasted beer. The first time was in Pangkor. :P The fun part was Big Boy came up with this game that challenge MMU Melaka contingent versus MMU Cyberjaya contingent in a beer drinking marathon. 4 best drinkers from Cyberjaya versus 4 best drinkers from Melaka. There's only 6 of us from Melaka, one of them can't drink because he was a muslim, while another girl was not feeling well that day. So.... we have no choice, our team consist of 1st drinker, Melanie, 2nd drinker, Suria, 3rd drinker, Me, and 4th Alex. Note : The Cyberians are pro drinkers and have been drinking for years while the Melaka contingent never really drink before. Guess what?? Melaka contingent won!!! ZOMG! I didnt even know I can do it. I just finish a bottle of beer at one shot for the first time in my life! and.... and... Melanie was fast.... very fast... Suria, she's the drinking goddess, she drinks even faster than Mel. Wow! can't believe it. Even Big Boy didn't expect we won and the bet we won from this challenge is a free jug of Zombie the next day. Muahahahaa.... Go MMU Melaka! On that night, I probably drank about 2and a half bottle of beer. I got a little tipsy though... yea i know i cant drink. hehee.. but it was so fun!
Day 3 :
- The Cyberians plan to bring us to a huge shopping mall called Robinson. Basically, we had a hard time finding this mall. If i'm not mistaken, we took hours to reach the ACTUAL Robinson mall. Because everytime we asked for a direction, they'll direct us to a supermarket called Robinson, not the mall itself. So, literally we went from one end of Manila to another end just to find this stupid Robinson mall. In the end, we ended up taking a horse carriage to reach our destination. It was a fun and exciting ride though, we had a clearer view of the city and everyone was looking at us as if we were jakun. Well, in deed we were jakun, I never sat a horse carriage before in my entire life. It was a nice experience. In Robinson mall, I bought a evening dress which cost me RM75. wee! Cheap and nice.... Alex said it looks nice and elegant. Felt a little bit bad for buying it because it's 1000pesos which sounds a lot. 1000! u imagine 1000 is a lot, but if u convert it to RM, it only cost RM75. Well, not that bad for a nice evening dress i guess. :P
Later after our shopping spree we went Tia Maria, a bar to have a drink. Ordered about 10 pitches of Zombie, dunno what's tat in the beginning.. something pinkish alcohol drink. Hmm... About one hour later, the cyberians went down to the dance floor and dance, Alex and I joined them later, and within half an hour, the dance floor is packed with people. We could hardly moved around, so we decided to go back to our table. That's it... end of day 3.
Day 4 :
- Going to catch a 12am bus to Bagiuo but before that we went for sparing with Ateneo De Manila University. 2rounds and that was the first time I adjuricate. As first timer, I can't give oral adjurication and hardly decide who wins the debate. It was tough, but soon it gets better in Bagiuo. Going to further explain about that later. After that, we headed to De La Salle University. Initially we were suppose to spar with them too but time doesn't allowed us to do so, so we just have a dinner with them as a sign of courtesy. We reached the bus station pretty early actually, we spend our time eating Balut ( an almost formed baby duck egg, just like those you watch in fear factor , by the way it taste nice ) and singing from english songs to chinese songs to cantonese song until it's time to board the bus. There we go...............Bagiuo!!!
to be continued.....
